About our school...
"At Staplehurst School we believe that academic excellence will be achieved by developing positive attitudes towards a learning culture together with high expectations and a commitment to all aspects of life at school."
Staplehurst School has hugely benefited from the appointment of a new headteacher in September 2004. Our May 2009 Ofsted report reflects this and can be viewed on line. Visit our 'Links' page to be redirected to it. Although the school is well placed for continued positive development, Staplehurst's success is not limited to academic results alone. With a firm commitment to providing a broad based education to all our pupils and a new catering company now providing 'Jamie Oliver' style meals we are proud to say that, among our many achievements, we have been accredited with 'Healthy School' status.
For those people considering moving to this area, Staplehurst is a fairly large village, south of Kent's county town, Maidstone. With an excellent train service into London, Staplehurst has always been a desirable place to live and the school has evolved throughout the last century from its original site (now the Village Centre) to our current position as the population has grown. The building of our fantastic multi-purpose Junior Hall was the most recent development in 2007.
The school now lies in the centre of the village and has around 410 pupils. There are eighteen classrooms, infant and junior halls and a modern computer suite. There are two libraries, four superb playgrounds (including adventure equipment, 'Zoneparc' facilities and two dedicated 'quiet' areas) plus a large sports' field. The school has many successful sports' teams and has been awarded the Sport England Activemark.

Our pupils move on from Staplehurst School to a variety of grammar schools and secondary schools in nearby Cranbrook, Maidstone and Tonbridge.
