Staplehurst School aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum within the framework of the Early Learning Goals and the National Curriculum by pursuing the following specific targets:

To encourage our children to develop lively and enquiring minds with positive attitude in order to develop as independent learners.

To enable every child to feel a valued member of the school community.

To create a happy, caring and supportive school atmosphere which is conducive to every child reaching his or her full potential.

To help pupils develop their own self-esteem and to have an awareness of the importance of citizenship.

To encourage pupils to listen and respond appropriately and respect the opinion of others.

To enable children to use language, numbers, ICT and scientific skills effectively, and enjoy these processes.

To progress from Foundation Stage achieving 'value added' and appropriate targets throughout Key Stages 1 and 2.

To encourage an ethos where pupils have a mutual understanding of religious, cultural and moral values, and tolerance of others.
